Mr James Akonor Afari
Mr. Afari holds a Final Certificate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana and Parts I & II Certificates of the Institute of Data
Processing Management, London, IDPM, now IMIS. He is a Chartered Accountant with over thirty-five (35) years post qualification experience in tax administration, audit assurance and consulted extensively in Public and Municipal Finance services.
Mr. James Akonor Afari was involved with a team of JEAVCO Associates Limited that executed the FOAT project in the Ashanti Region in 2012. He was an Audit Manager with KPMG and has more than twenty-five (25) years’ experience in the Audit of large Private and Corporate firms. He has enormous experience in computer system based auditing and reviews of internal controls. Mr. Akonnor has consulted for many organizations on Accounting, Financing, etc as well as organizing training programmes particularly for local government personnel. He was a member of the
Accounting and Auditing Standards Committee of The Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana, and also part of a team that did the preparatory studies and work which led to the formation of the Ghana National Accounting Standards Board.
Mr. James Akonor Afari possesses excellent communication skills and ability to cooperate with colleagues. He also has strong report writing skills and is able to provide support, guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff in order to help grow their technical abilities, while being able to take on new challenges and stretch pass performance.
